The order of Choghadiya names changes with every weekday — which is why one fixed list cannot serve all days. Here each day’s own order is built from that day’s sunrise.
What this page tells you
This shows the day’s and night’s Choghadiya — eight parts each, every one with its own name and character. Amrit, Shubh and Labh are held favourable; Rog, Kaal and Udveg are ones to avoid.
How it is calculated
The day is divided into eight equal parts from sunrise to sunset, and the night into eight from sunset to the next sunrise. Now the part that matters most: the order of the names changes with the weekday. Monday’s sequence does not apply on Tuesday. Using one list for every day is the commonest error — and it empties Choghadiya of its meaning entirely.
How to read it
Each part is given with its timing, derived from your city’s sunrise and sunset — so changing the city changes the times. Choghadiya suits small, immediate decisions: travel, a purchase, starting a conversation. For a marriage or a house-warming, a full muhurat is consulted, not Choghadiya alone.
Common questions
Can anything be done during Amrit Choghadiya?
The tradition treats it as the most favourable, but it does not replace a full muhurat. Larger undertakings also weigh the tithi, the nakshatra and the yoga.
Why is the night Choghadiya different?
Because its order differs and its count begins at sunset. Applying the daytime list to the night gives a wrong result.
Why do timings differ from another site?
Usually because the city differs — the parts are built from sunrise and sunset. If the city matches too, that site may not be varying the order by weekday.
