Monthly Horoscope
A month takes its colour from two things: where the planets stand now, and which of them change sign during it. Both are measured and given below.
Choose your sign
Ye Moon sign — the sign the Moon was in at birth. The Western Sun sign is different from it. If you do not know it, free kundli can work it out.
Which planets this reading uses
A monthly reading uses five planets — the Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter.
The Sun changes sign once every month almost exactly, so it gives a monthly reading its frame. Mercury and Venus also change sign about once in that span.
Alongside this you also get which planet changes sign this month and on what date — because that is where a month actually turns, not in the daily rise and fall.

What is the monthly reading built from?
From two things. First, which houses from your sign the five planets — Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter — currently occupy. Second, which of them changes sign this month, and on what date. The real turn of a month comes from the second.
When does the month start — the 1st?
No — the next 30 days from today. Planets do not change sign in step with the 1st of a calendar month, so counting from the 1st would be an artificial boundary.
Why is Saturn not included?
Because Saturn stays in a sign for two and a half years — in a single month it barely moves. To look at its effect, use the yearly reading or the Sade Sati page, where it is central.
Why does the Sun’s change of sign matter?
Because the Sun changes sign once a month almost exactly — that is the frame of a monthly reading. Around that date the month’s emphasis shifts from one house to the next.
