How to Check Manglik Dosh in Your Kundli
The check itself takes one minute: find which house Mars sits in. What takes longer — and what most people skip — is everything that comes after.

Step 1 — find which house Mars is in

Step 2 — from the Ascendant, the Moon, or Venus?
This is where two astrologers give two different answers, and it is not because one of them is careless. Traditions genuinely differ on the reference point.

The honest position: if you check all three, almost every second chart comes out "Manglik" one way or another. That is why a reading picks one reference point and stays with it — it does not stack all three and call the result a diagnosis.
Step 3 — and this is the step that actually matters
Finding Mars in one of the five houses does not finish the job. Now you check the cancellations.
The same classical texts that describe this dosha also list more than six conditions that cancel it — known as parihar. Among them: Mars in its own sign or exalted, both partners being Manglik, and the person's age at marriage. In practice one of these applies in most charts.
Naming someone Manglik before checking the cancellations is half a sentence read as a whole one.
