Why the rule exists

Guests and daytime use belong in the light of the north or east.

Our method, in full

• Paramasayika 81-pada (9x9) · 45 devatas
• The polygon’s geometric centroid (shoelace method) — not the centre of a bounding box
• Two measures together: (1) a circle around the centre with one-ninth of the total area, (2) the mandala's central 3x3 (Brahma's nine padas). Both are shown.

How much this room counts

Rooms are not weighted equally, and the weights are not hidden:

Verdicts: favourable 1.0 | acceptable 0.6 | neutral 0.5 | attention 0.15. Room weights: door 3, toilet 3, kitchen 2.5, bedroom 2.5, prayer space 2, underground water 2, tank 1.5, stairs 1.5, everything else 1. Total = rooms 70% + structure 30%. No hidden weights.

What this version does not do

• ayadi calculations (not possible without real dimensions)
• detecting rooms from the plan automatically (computer vision)

One thing to be clear about

These are general rules, not a verdict on your home. The real answer depends on your plan, the true north, and where the room actually sits — which is why we built a tool rather than an article. And you mark the rooms yourself; no computer vision guesses them, because a wrong guess here leads to advice that ends in knocking down a wall.
